I am glad that the Genius Bar gurus were able to help you out!

I am finding my iPod, bless its little itty-bitty soul, has to be charged much more these days. That's the one thing that the Apple guys have to work on with this gadget.

Michelle, try the updater:

Do a “restore” (rather than “update”) the software on Ipod. Apparently, the software has a role in battery life.

*If you choose the “restore” option using the updater all your iPod’s music will be deleted and your Ipod’s settings put back to the factory default. It gives you that fresh-start kind of feeling, though.

Also, here's how to run diagnostics on your Ipod yourself:
