One of the things that really chaps my ass is when a customer orders a dish, I cook it, send it out and they decide they want something else instead. I'm real good about designing my menu around the ingredients present in any given dish. For example:
Lime - Chipotle Chicken Salad
Spice and lime marinated grilled breast of chicken, shredded and tossed with cilantro, scallions and a touch of mayonaise. Served over baby greens with a roasted red pepper vinaigrette.
See? Everything is there. You know what you're getting. And if you want, I'm happy to let you sample it.
So, today, some lady orders the chicken salad described above, and sends it back because she can taste something she can't have and can she have the the pasta special instead. Which her companion ordered and that she's tasted and pronounced excellent. That just bugs the hell out of me, because I just lost that chicken salad and I have to drop everything in front of me in order to please this silly person, thus delaying all the rest of the tables coming up behind.
I guess you had to be there or something. Mutter.
